About Anello Books

Anello Books for Children was created from a lifelong love of children, education, storytelling, and the imagination that connects them.

Founded by longtime music educator and author John D. Anello III, Anello Books creates stories that encourage children to notice the world around them, use their imaginations, and discover how an ordinary moment can become something extraordinary.

Our stories are designed to be enjoyed together - by children, parents, grandparents, teachers, and caregivers. Through memorable characters, engaging language, beautiful illustrations, and a touch of wonder, Anello Books hopes to create the kinds of books children ask to hear again and again.

Sergio's Window Tales is the first book from Anello Books and introduces Sergio, a curious gray-and-white cat whose view from the window becomes the inspiration for imaginative adventures with his toy friends.

As Anello Books grows, its mission will remain simple: to create meaningful, imaginative stories that bring children and the people who care for them together through reading.

Stories inspired by the wonder just outside your window.

Meet the Author

John D. Anello III

John D. Anello III is a retired music teacher who spent over 25 years helping young people discover creativity, curiosity, and imagination. Sergio's Window Tales is his first picture book, inspired by his cat, Sergio, and the small adventures that happen just outside a window. When he isn't writing, John likes to direct community choirs, share his love of music and storytelling, and create stories that encourage children to slow down, notice the world around them, and use their imaginations. John lives in southeastern Wisconsin with his wife, Kelly, and their cat, Sergio. He started writing children's books hoping to have stories to share with his future grandchildren.
